I never know what to get my kids for Christmas because I get them whatever they want the rest of the year…there’s nothing left for them to ask for! I know that’s bad and that I’m probably spoiling them to a point it’s not good for them but I just want them to be happy and if me giving them some silly present is going to do that in October then that’s what I’m going to do. This year I got them a Direct TV package because the boys are getting to that age where everyone is always talking about sports and before we didn’t really have any good game channels. The last thing I want is for them to be left out or feel behind in the social scene at school because we’re lacking something at home, you know? My husband says I need to stop and that I am really going to turn them rotten but I think it’s my job as a mom to make sure they’ve got everything they need and nothing less.

We do not let our two-year-old son watch much TV. We started letting him watch a little at a time after he turned one year old. He loves Elmo and Sesame Street and a few other shows that come on in the morning, but since we got DIRECTSTARTV, he has really gotten into watching movies. We have recorded a few kids movies off of movie channels and he asks daily to watch them. His favorite movie for a long time was “Monsters, Inc.” Then he discovered “Finding Nemo” and “Up”. I could probably recite all three of these movies. I guess he really likes the animation of Pixar movies. I actually really enjoy watching these movies, but after watching them about a hundred times each, I have to say I am pretty tired of them. Our son says he wants to be Buzz Lightyear for Halloween, so I need to try to find that costume somewhere. We are very careful about what we let our son watch on TV, so luckily he has fallen in love with some movies that we are comfortable with him watching.
